I like clean sheets, but this is not what I had in mind.

I'm really trying to use this blog for more than a sounding board about my life as a new parent, but right now that part of my life is consuming me. This isn't a complaint, but it's hard to have time to explore new things and see my friends, let alone finish the laundry, when every day with a toddler brings a new surprise, a new challenge, a new discovery - for me, not her! This next story I have to share. I just have to. You know how much I like to talk about poo after all.

FiG has recently discovered her diaper and the parts inside it. She thinks it's funny to stick her hand in the diaper as I'm trying to take it off. Fortunately this doesn't happen all the time and I can usually disctract her with a tube of cream or a toy. Last night, however, she plunged her hand into her diaper and pulled out a handfull of poo. As I grabbed her arm she twisted her body dragging her leg through the diaper. She went straight to the bath tub with her shoes, socks, and shirt still on. I stripped her and hosed her down. When A-Mo got home, he washed our sheets.

Seriously kid, if you just wanted to play in the shower, all you had to do was ask.

Yesterday one of our (confused) patients emptied his colostomy bag contents into his ice cream bowl. Definitely less cute than FiG and her diaper.

Reminds me of when our very talkative Miss G at the same age instructed Mister O to change her poopy diaper (she wasn't touching the stuff), with predicable results. Mister O followed the instructions, but Mom was left to clean the carpet.
