Today's Commentary

I'm in a "boutique" hotel in downtown Atlanta right now. Swanky place. No room service, so I went to the lounge. They were nice enough to order me a chicken ceasar salad from the kitchen that was closing in two minutes. I wasn't expecting the deep fried, cold chicken fingers on my salad but let me tell you it was perfect. I'm anxious to see if any of the drunk chicks at the bar are part of the meeting I'm here for tomorrow. That will be fun. :)

My flight squeaked in front of and above the severe weather in the mid west. There's a huge winter storm between here and Minneapolis . It's snowing horizontally in Milwaukee. Children could be knee deep in snow by morning there. Behind the front it's 31F in Omaha. A mall in Memphis was hit by a tornado. And there's a "PDS" in Nashville. That means a "Potentially Dangerous Situation" for anyone who hasn't watch TWC in a while. I have had a long standing crush on Jim Cantore but his ranking ticked down as I heard him say "PDS" over and over again. Gimme a break Jim. Do we really need an acronym for a tornado screaming towards Vanderbilt University and the metropolitan area of Nashville?

With all the weather excitement there is also the caucus and primary excitement tonight. The CNN Center isn't too far from here. I'm tempted to go....but it's late and I have to be up early. I think I will just catch up with the paper in the AM and maybe hit the Center tomorrow night.

Hotlanta lives! It was 67F when my plane landed. I was in a turtle neck sweater. We pulled into Terminal E which is clear across the airport from baggage claim and ground transportation. Literally clear across. There are signs telling you how many feet are between each terminal. Since I felt like I needed the exercise, I walked instead of taking the train. 6,000 feet later I was in a taxi. Did I mention the turtle neck sweater? I am, however, looking forward to my return to the airport and lunch at Chick-Fil-A in Terminal A. Do a little happy dance with me......

Nitety nite peeps.

Oh dear lord: sweet tea, Waffle House, and proper sausage gravy.

No Waffle Houses! I don't hate the place because of the food, though it certainly doesn't help. It's more the kind of people I always see there. GAH!

If you're looking for a good meal, find La Fonda Latina in Little Five Points. Great Cuban food!
