Evolution of the midnight run.

When A-Mo and I were in college we would occasionally make midnight runs to Super K. It was kind of a date...or an extension of one. Seven or so years later we were in MN with a new home and our midnight runs were to Home Depot. On Friday nights they served free ice cream novelties out of a shopping cart. Totally sweet, right? Seven or so years later our midnight runs are to Walgreens. Alone.

Last night I went to Walgreens for child cough syrup, a Vicks vaporizer, and a midnight conversation with an all-night pharmacist. FiG got so wound up and upset when we put her in bed that she coughed until she threw up in her bed. (1) New sheets and pajamas. We steamed up the bathroom, gave her honey and warm water, Vicks Vaporub, and a nebulizer treatment. Then back to bed. (2) New sheets and pajamas. We steamed up the bathroom, gave her honey and warm water, and Vicks Vaporub. Then to the couch. (3) New pajamas. Off to Walgreens where I heard the testimony of the all-night cashier. Right. Not. A. Good. Time.

Forunately there was one box of cough syrup with dosing instructions for a 2 year old. It worked. But she only slept for 7 hours. Right now she's dancing to the theme song for Bob the Builder. It took me WAY too long to figure out I could find it free online and play it over and over and over agian for her.

She's wearing A-Mo's knit hat....it makes her look like a storm trooper. In mismatched pajamas. Gotta love it.
